Vineyard: THIS WINE COMES FROM CHRISTY & WISE VINEYARD IN STA. RITA HILLS OWNED BY THE SAME OWNERS OF DUVARITA. THE VINEYARD IS CERTIFIED ORGANIC AND BIODYNAMIC, NESTLED NEAR LOMPOC AND THE COAST. WITH A COOLER CLIMATE, APPROXIMATELY 20 DEGREES COOLER THAN PASO ROBLES, THE REGION IS KNOWN FOR ITS LONG RIPENING SEASOn. ORIGINALLY A PINOT NOIR AND CHARDONNAY TERRITORY, MORE GRENACHE IS EMERGING FROM THESE SOILS. The christy & wise bottling is an excellent representation of where lone madrone is heading as the next generation of the family begins to spread its wings. 

wINEMAKING: THE PRIMARY FERMENTATION WAS CARRIED OUR IN OPEN-TOP UPRIGHT STAINLESS STEEL TANKS, ALLOWING FOR GENTLE EXTRACTION OF FLAVORS. THE WINE WAS THEN AGED FOR 18 MONTHS IN NEUTRAL PUNCHEONS, CONTRIBUTING TO ITS REFINED TEXTURE WITHOUT OVERPOWERING THE FRUIT CHARACTER.

tasting notes: THIS VIBRANT WINE EXHIBITS COMPLEX FLAVOR OF PINK PEPPERCORN, FERNET, AND SANGUINE NOTES. THE DEEP COLOR HUE FROM THE EXTENDED GROWING SEASON ENHANCES ITS RICHNESS, WHILE THE LOW-PRUNED VINES PRODUCE A STRUCTURED AND BALANCE PALATE WITH BRIGHT ACIDITY. AN EXCELLENT PAIRING WITH ROASTED VEGETABLES, GRILLED MEATS, OR EARTH DISHES.

wINEMAKING: PRIMARY FERMENTATION TOOK PLACES IN STAINLESS STEEL TANKS, FOLLOWED BY 18 MONTHS OF AGING IN NEUTRAL OAK PUNCHEONS. THE APPROACH ALLOWS THE PURE VAREITAL EXPRESSION OF MOURVEDRE TO SHINE, HIGHLIGHTING IT NATURAL COMPLEXITY AND STUCTURE.

tasting notes: A VIBRANT AND RICHLY LAYED MOURVEDRE WITH NOTES OF FRESH PLUMS, LICORICE ROOTS, AND BLACK CHERRY. THE WINE’S DEPTH AND FRUIT-DRIVEN PROFILE MAKE IT AN EXCELLENT PAIRING WITH GRILLED MEATS, HEARTY STEWS, OR MUSHROOM-BASED DISHES.

FARMING: DRY-FARMED, HEAD-TRAINED AND CERTIFIED ORGANIC

1L of pure fruit and acid deliciousness.  This wine is about opening up and drinking, don't overthink it.  In fact, you don't need to think about it at all, crack the screw cap and refill those glasses just a few more times than you would with a mere 750ml.  This wine is 100% carbonic maceration.  For optimum taste and fresh spritzy-ness drink now, but if your inclined the Cinsault will age gracefully for 2-3yrs.
